The Australian Sports Commission, in collaboration with DanceSport, is running a program i under the Play Well initiative to encourage people to take up dancing.
The program will commence on Monday, 17 March, and will run for 8 weeks.
Come Try Dancing Come and try four free dance lessons in the Yarra Ranges from the Australian Sports Commission Enjoy 4 free dance classes at our local studios, Move Studios and Viva La Dance, and start learning popular dances such as Cha Cha, Rumba, Salsa, Waltz and more. This initiative aims to encourage Australians to get active and discover the joy of dancing. There are 26 participating studios across Victoria for people over 18 years old. Why give dancing a go? Come early Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the lesson to be welcomed and given relevant information. Do I need a partner? No, many come alone and there are plenty of students and teachers to dance with. Friends and partners are welcome. What to wear Dress in neat casual comfortable clothing. Wear shoes that you will be able to dance in – a pair of flat shoes or runners. No thongs or sandals please. What to bring? A water bottle, a willingness to learn, and a sense of humour!
